Intertape Polymer Group Offers Moving Programs for Profitable Incremental Sales
CUMMING, GA, August 5, 2003 – The average American moves once every four years, and that can mean big profits for retailers interested in improving their bottom line.
The MailAway ® product line by Intertape has expanded to include a one-stop source for moving supplies from tape and packing materials to boxes and wrapping/padding items. The new product will be unveiled at the National Hardware Show in Chicago in August, so that retailers can plan for increased profits in 2004.
Summer is generally the biggest moving season, for people changing jobs between the school year and for students going off to college.
“The main time for moving is during the summer or during school breaks,” said Brian E. Miller, vice president of marketing for the Intertape’s Retail Products Group. “Because of the national movement to recycle, popular moving items such as boxes and newspapers are more scarce than ever. Our moving pallet solves that problem by offering a wide range of moving products assembled in a single display."
The MailAway moving pallet is a temporary display that can fit into a six-foot by six-foot space in a retail store, hardware, home improvement or mass merchandiser/box store. It provides a full selection of boxes and packing crates in a wide range of sizes. Carton-sealing tape, general-purpose tape, packaging tape, tape dispensers, bubble wrap and tissue/wrapping/packing paper.
“This is a great way for a retailer to increase profits,” Miller said. “Research shows that consumers prefer one-stop shopping to help them be organized when they move. When a retailer expands inventory to add an in-demand product such as moving supplies, both the retailer and the customer win.”
